September 5, 1979 — September 13, 2020

Daniel Joe Cathey

Daniel Joe Cathey was born on September 5th, 1979 in Houston, Texas. The Lord called Daniel home at 8am on the morning of September 13th, 2020.

Daniel is survived by his mother and father, Pam and Dr. George Cathey of Quitman; His brother Jason Cathey, wife Julie; 1 niece Lauren Cathey and 2 nephews, Townes and Brooks Cathey all of Tyler Texas.  He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and countless cousins.

Daniel was a music aficionado who loved to sing with friends, play the guitar and sing on stage.  Music, theater and acting were his passions in life.  His signature smile and infectious attitude could lift anyone from a bad day.  His goal?  To make you laugh and he had the ability perfected.

The loss of Daniel will leave a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled; however, family and friends can take solace in the fact the God is currently introducing His new, charismatic and lovable angel to the rest of His heavenly family.

Visitation for Daniel will be held at 10:00 am Saturday September 19, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home, 1102 E. Goode Street, Quitman Texas; followed by A Celebration of Daniel’s life at 11:00am.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Daniel Cathey’s name.
