Daisy Dean Mays

Funeral services for Daisy Dean Mays, 85, of Quitman, are scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, May 17, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church, Quitman with Pastor Mike Midkiff officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home.

Daisy was born on October 6, 1933 in Longview to Charles and Ethel Foster and passed away May 12, 2019. On December 22, 1952 she married Bobby Mays. She was a Quitman resident for 45 years. She retired from First National Bank, Quitman. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, past Pilot Club member, and ETMC auxiliary volunteer. Daisy was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ethel Foster; husband, Bob Mays; daughter, Selinda Williams; and four sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Karen Gillam of Longview and Pam Cathey and husband George of Quitman; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Cathey, Daniel Cathey, Kirt McBride, Charles Willis, James Attaway, and Robert Willis. Honorary pallbearer is George Cathey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UT Health Volunteer Auxillary Scholarship Fund.
