Cynthia Delaine Jackson

Cynthia Delaine Jackson of Quitman, passed away on December 26, 2023 at the age of 55. Born on December 27, 1967, in Hopkins County, Delaine was the daughter of the late Dewayne and Betty (Harris) Mead.

Delaine was raised in Quitman, where she graduated from Quitman High School in 1986. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Tyler Junior College, where she furthered her education. After her studies, Cynthia worked as a phlebotomist before dedicating herself to being a stay-at-home mom.

In 1994, Delaine married Richard Dale Jackson. Together, they owned and operated a successful construction company in the Dallas area before his passing in 2009.  In more recent years, Delaine ventured further into the world of entrepreneurship, owning and operating chicken houses. Delaine lovingly nicknamed herself the “chicken tender," as she poured her heart and soul into tending to the well-being of the animals. Her caring nature extended beyond her poultry care, as Delaine had a green thumb and a natural affinity for plants and gardening.

Delaine’s love for adventure led her to enjoy the outdoors, particularly spending time on the lake, jet skiing, and boating. She enjoyed hosting family events at the lake, creating memories for all.

Aside from her achievements and passions, Delaine was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her warm smile and kind-hearted nature touched the lives of all those who knew her.

She rejoices in Heaven with those who passed before her: her parents, Dwayne and Betty Mead; and husband, Richard Dale Jackson.

Left to cherish her memory are Mary Nicole Jackson of Austin, Ryan Jackson of Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, Ronald "Ronny" Collins of Quitman, Randy Mead of Quitman, and Peyton and Colton Mead. Delaine will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed enough to know her.

Visitation for Delaine Jackson will be held from 2-3 pm Friday, December 29, 2023, at Winterfield Baptist Church in Pickton, TX, with a graveside service to follow at Winterfield Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
