Craig Alan Turner, 55, of Yantis, returned to his Heavenly home on Saturday, May 14, 2022 with his family by his side.
Craig was born in Grand Saline, Texas on July 7, 1966 to parents Billy J. and Frances Nell Taylor Turner. As a young kid he loved to ride dirt bikes and fish. He graduated from Mineola High School then went on to Tyler Junior College and finished his college career at TSTC Waco where he received his machinist certification. On June 1, 2004 Craig married his love, Paula Marie Alfred. They started their life together in Quitman and in 2016 they moved to the Lake Fork area. In his spare time he loved to play pool and was a former member of the APA pool league, enjoyed fishing, going to the dirt track races on Saturday nights, but most of all he loved being “Pops.”
Craig is preceded in death by his father, Billy J. Turner.
He is survived by his wife Paula Turner of Yantis; his mother, Frances Nell Turner of Mineola; 3 children, Slade Turner of Dallas, Jacob Alfred of Yantis, and Alyssa Alfred also of Yantis; 2 sisters, Traci Crane and husband David of Mineola, and Karen Lawson of Mineola; 2 brothers, Scott LaFon of Somerville, and Jimmy Turner and wife Vicky of Meridian; 1 grandchild Kayson Driver; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Memorial services for Craig will be held 10:00AM Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations.
