Cliffie (Roberts) Dyess Tucker

Cliffie L. (Roberts) Dyess Tucker, age 92, of Hainesville, passed away at home on April 27, 2024. Cliffie was a beloved mother, Grammy, sister, and friend to many.

Cliffie was born in Hainesville, Texas on December 5, 1931 to Oliver Roberts and Myrtle (Byrd) Roberts. Cliffie's journey through life was marked by a deep commitment to service. She began her career as a teller at Mineola Federal Savings & Loan in the 1960’s and devoted over three decades to the institution before retiring in 1992. Her professional beliefs in hard work and integrity left a lasting impact on all those she encountered.

Beyond her career, Cliffie exemplified what it means to be a Godly woman. Her faith was not just a part of her life; it defined her character. She dedicated her life to serving others, teaching Sunday school, singing in the church choir, singing solos, and leading music when she was younger. Cliffie found comfort in reading her Bible and watching Gaither videos. Her faith was steadfast, and her love for her family was unwavering.

Throughout her life, Cliffie found great joy in her roles as a mother and grandmother, earning the endearing title of "Grammy" to her beloved grandkids and great grandkids. As a single parent, she raised her two children in a Godly home, depending solely on her Lord and Savior.

She greets in Heaven her parents, Oliver and Myrtle Roberts; husband, A.J. “Buddy” Tucker; two brothers, Byron D. Roberts and Johnny M. Roberts; sister, Shirley J. Roberts Low; son, Ronald Wayne Dyess; and son-in-law, Jerry L. Garrett.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Cecilia A. Dyess Garrett of Hainesville; daughter-in-law, Janice S. Edwards Dyess of Hainesville; brother, Fines Oliver Roberts Jr. of Dallas; sister-in-law, Betty J. Puckett Roberts of Gilmer; brother-in-law, Jim D. Low of Tyler; grandson, Matthew W. Dyess and wife Chloe Roberts Dyess and two great grandsons, Greyson and Conor Dyess of Saltillo; and several nieces, nephews, step-children, and step-grandchildren.
