Clarence Dwendell "C.D." Ballard

Clarence Dwendell “C.D.” Ballard, of Winnsboro, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the age of 89.

He was born on April 3, 1936 in Winnsboro, Texas to the late Clarence William Ballard and Rebecca Lorena (Stokley) Ballard.

C.D. was a Veteran and served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He married Shirley Hux on April 20, 1956.

C.D. was the owner of Winburn Milk Company in Sulphur Springs for many years and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Winnsboro.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Ann Ballard; son, Danny Dwendell Ballard; two grandchildren Misty and Christopher; and two siblings, Wilbur Lee Ballard and Clarine Ballard Briggs.

Survivors include two daughters, Terri Monday and Michael Altaffer of Winnsboro, and Tammy Henry and husband Sam of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Colter Acker (Robin), Morgan Warren (John), Maegan Vaughn (Josh), Mason Monday, J.D. Acker (Khristin) and Micah Monday; great grandchildren, Molly Tinney (Denver), Christian Acker (Haley), Lane Warren, Faith Acker, Jesse Vaughn, Macie Monday, Lily Acker, Milee Warren, Zane Warren, Rosie Acker, Jack Acker, Callie Acker, and Rocklin Acker; and two great great granddaughters Elizabeth Acker and Saylor Tinney.

Funeral service for C.D. Ballard will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 28, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Winnsboro with Brother Steve Cochran and Brother Nub Brown officiating. Graveside service will follow at Harmony Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, starting at 9:00 AM.

Serving as pallbearers are Colter Acker, J.D. Acker, John Warren, Josh Vaughn, Christian Acker, Lane Warren, Jesse Vaughn, and Zane Warren.
