Cherie Lynn Mezzell

Cherie Lynn Mezzell, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed on May 14, 2024 in Tyler, Texas. She was born on January 25, 1965, in Texarkana, Texas, to her parents Jerry and Nelda Womer. She lived in Mineola for three years, moving from Quitman. She was a Wood County resident for most of her life. 

Cherie devoted her life to being a homemaker and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was known for her kind and nurturing spirit. Cherie had a special love for coloring and caring for animals, especially her daughter's and grandchildren’s pets. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her grandchildren who affectionately called her Memaw or Mae Mae.
 
Cherie is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Nelda Womer.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Amber Peckham of Mineola and Jessica Davis; four siblings: Sheila McPherson and husband James of Lindale, Terrie Milligan of Texarkana, Arkansas, Alex Wasarhelyi of Florida, and Cherie Stevenson and husband Jack of New Hampshire; as well as seven adoring grandchildren: Landon, Braylon, Kenleigh, Lakyn, Emberlyn, Lyric, and Masyn. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
 
Cherie Lynn Mezzell will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile and loving nature touched the lives of many, and the hole left by her absence will be an impossible one to fill.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
