He was born July 29, 1932 in Tipton, OK. to Joe and Stella Stiner Smart. He was in the maintenance profession. Borden moved to Wood County 20 years ago coming from Lindale. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Smith Smart.

Borden is survived by 3 sons; Ronald Smart, Rock Springs, WY., Milburn "Bill" Smart, Tyler, TX., Scott Smart, Rawlins, WY.; 4 Step-sons; Billy Wayne Smith, Quitman, George Smith, Quitman, Richard Smith, Winnsboro, Thomas Smith, Springtown, TX; 2 Daughters; Kathy Morris, Rawlins, WY and LaDonna Wichern, Albuquerque, New Mexico;3 Brothers;
Joe Smart, Lindale, TX, Troy Smart, Tyler, W. T. Smart, Lindale, TX., 4 Sisters; Blanche Mize, Lindale, Wilma Burgess, Quitman, Delores Prickett, TN., Sherrie Ledesma, S. Carolina; numerous grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. numerous nieces and nephews.
