Bobby Reed Mooring

Bobby Reed Mooring, a beloved son and brother, peacefully passed away at his residence in Quitman on August 18, 2023, at the age of 55. Bobby was born on October 21, 1967, in Dallas, Texas, to Bobbie and Susan Mooring. 

Bobby was a resident of Quitman for the majority of his life.  He was a 1986 graduate of Quitman High School and later attended auto mechanic school in Irving.  He was involved in different organizations, including being a volunteer fireman, and working as a police officer and EMT in his earlier years. For 25 years, he worked as an AC Technician for Ramirez AC in Mineola and took great pride in his work. Bobby was also a member of Church on the Rock.

Outside of work and community service, Bobby enjoyed Ham radio communication. He also enjoyed fishing and swimming at the lake when he was younger.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Bobbie Reed Mooring.

He is survived by his loving mother, Susan Mooring of Quitman; two siblings, Anthony Mooring of Quitman and Louise Torres and husband John of Tucson, AZ; aunt and uncles, Kathy Simmons and husband Jim King, John Thompson, and Byron Skiles; and many cousins, extended family members, and friends.

A memorial service honoring Bobby’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Church on the Rock in Quitman.
