Nothing can prepare us for loss. Gods word the Bible gives us comfort, it provides hope. "There is going to be a resurrection." (Acts 24:15) God will restore life to those who have died, and they will have the prospect of living forever in paradise on earth. This is a promise from God, which we can have confidence in because he "cannot lie." (Titus 1:2) May this hope comfort your greiving hearts. I am sorry for your loss.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of Blake's family. For right now, there's no detour around grief, no shortcut through mourning. However, 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal...", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget. It means we recover. We recover because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28 which says, "...all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out...". Jesus was referring to the resurrection. That is our amazing hope! The Bible likens our hope to an anchor. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship, our hope stabilizes us and keeps us from drowning in overwhelming sadness. One way that God comforts us today is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort be your comfort now, during this time of sorrow. For the Bible's answers to life's big questions please visit JW.org.

Ruth and family... Hugs, prayers and love to you all. Blake taught me and many more saddle fitting in Reddick, Florida. Extremely thorough, kind in teaching, persistent, full of knowledge given freely. I remember working with him in his shop on cleaning saddle detail. I would ask, when do I graduate from cleaning these icky saddles? He would say....when you have mastered the cleaning. And he was serious. I thank him for all the knowledge he instilled in me. I continue to saddle fit, flock saddles, and replace billets still to this day and in the future because of Blake. Thank you Blake.

What a blessing Blake was in our lives. He had the sweetest spirit, always smiling and sweetly speaking to everyone. Blake never complained, even though we knew he was in a lot of pain. Blake was knowledgeable in the Word of God and was open to sharing what God had done in his life. Blake, we will miss you so much in church, but have the blessed assurance we will see you again, to spend eternity at the feet of our Lord.
