Billy Frank Wansley

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Frank Wansley, 65 of Quitman are scheduled for 2:30 PM Sunday June 30 at Lake Fork Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Saturday evening at the Funeral Home.
His burial will be held at Clover Hill Cemetery.

Bill was born April 15,1948 in Mineola to the late J.T. and Amie Withrow Wansley. He served as Wood County Sheriff from 2009-2012 and as police chief of Quitman for 13 years. He spent 33 years in law enforcement. Prior to entering law enforcement Bill worked two years for Wood County Cooperative in Quitman. Bill was a U.S. Marine serving in the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist and a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Glenda Wansley and brother Donald Wansley.
Surviors include wife, Jeanette Wansley of Quitman, daughter, Tanya and Don Weems of Quitman,brothers Jerry Wansley of Quitman and David Wansley of Corsicana, sister, Katie Turnage of Ennis, 2 grandchildren, Jody and Josh and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the
Marines Toys for Tots.
