Billy Harrison

Quitman, Texas
In Loving Memory of Billy Harrison Lamb
November 18, 1946 - October 25, 2026
Billy Harrison Lamb, 79, of Quitman, Texas, passed away on October 25, 2026, in Quitman. He was born on November 18, 1946, in Ohio, to Irvin Lamb and Flora Mae (Ashcraft) Lamb. Billy was the second youngest of seven children.
Billy spent much of his life in California before moving to Colorado and eventually settling in Texas in 2004. Five years ago, he and his wife, Nancy, made Quitman their home.
On June 13, 1986, Billy married the love of his life, Nancy Syfrett, in Nevada. Their love story began when Nancy, who was working in sales at the time, approached Billy while giving a sales pitch for the company where he worked. What started as a simple sales conversation quickly turned into something much more. Billy knew a good thing when he saw it, and he wasn't about to let her get away. Their relationship blossomed over coffee dates during their lunch breaks, beginning a marriage that would span more than 40 wonderful years.
Throughout his life, Billy was a hardworking man with a wide range of talents and experiences. He proudly served as a police officer in Hawthorne, California, in Los Angeles County, for 12 years. Following his career in law enforcement, he worked as a plumbing contractor and teacher, and chief maintenance engineer. His knowledge, skills, and willingness to take on new challenges served him well throughout his working years.
Outside of work, Billy enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved playing his guitar and spending time outdoors, especially hunting, and fishing. He also had a special place in his heart for his dogs, particularly his beloved Labrador Retrievers. A man of Christian faith, Billy valued the life he built, the experiences he gathered along the way, and, above all, the family he shared it with.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Flora Mae Lamb; his twin brother, who passed away at birth; and his siblings, Irvin Lamb Jr., Alfred Lamb, Andrew Lamb, Norma Jean "Jeanne" Rochelle, and Vivian Boughton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Nancy Victoria Lamb of Quitman; his three children, Alfred H. Lamb, Juston Besch, and Kimberley Waskewicz; his sister, Vicky Mulledy; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
