Billie Faye Henderson

Billie Faye Henderson, 78, of Quitman, Texas, passed away peacefully at Hospice of East Texas on December 3, 2025. Billie was born on November 4, 1947, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Lenzie Thomas Carlile and Ina Belle Yandall Carlile. Not long after, the family moved to California, where they worked in the grape orchards.

She married Max Henderson on September 23, 1967, and together they made their home in Wood County until his passing.

Billie had a deep love for Forensic Science and faithfully watched the True Crime and ID channels, always trying to solve the mysteries before the end of each show. She was an avid Oklahoma Sooner fan and enjoyed college football in general. She also loved Western movies and watching NASCAR races.

Billie attended the First Assembly of God Church in Quitman, Texas, where she was active in the Ladies Ministries. She worked as a Secretary in the Legal Departments of various life insurance companies, reviewing information for accuracy prior to policy approval. She was a dedicated, hardworking woman who never stopped giving her best.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lenzie and Ina Carlile; her husband, Max Henderson; brothers Ralph Hoy, Alvin Hoy, and Walter Hoy; and sisters Linda Kay Carlile Carmody and Norma Jean Hoy Wells.

Left to celebrate her memory are her sons, Charles Douglas Henderson of Quitman and Stephen Henderson of Wood County; her sister, Shirley Bass of Mariposa, California; grandsons Matthew Henderson of Clarksville, Tennessee, and David Henderson of Quitman; granddaughters Britney Henderson of Mississippi, Taylor Henderson of Mississippi, and Paige McLemore, of Quitman, and husband Cody; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration Service for Billie will be held at the First Assembly of God Church in Quitman, Texas, at a later date.
