Betty Skinner Savage, age 86, of Mineola, Texas, passed away on December 4, 2025.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Mineola and deeply rooted in the community she loved. She was born to Harvey and Velma Skinner and was one of thirteen siblings. On December 30, 1961, she married the love of her life, Glenn Savage, at Humble Baptist Church in Mineola. Together, they built a home filled with love, devotion, and a family legacy that continues through generations.
Betty was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and “Mamaw.” She cherished spending time with her family and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, proudly cheering them on at every opportunity. Betty also found joy in cooking for those she loved. She attended the Mormon Church in Quitman, where she found fellowship and spiritual comfort.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Savage; her parents, Harvey and Velma Skinner; and her twelve siblings.
She is survived by her sons, Marvin Savage and wife Pam, and Roland Savage and wife Kathlene; her five grandchildren, Amanda, Lindsey, Steven, Nicole, and Lacey; and her four great-grandchildren, Levi, Savannah, Carter, and Sophia, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Betty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations, with burial to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, also at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations.
