Betty Jean McCord

Graveside service for Betty Jean McCord, 77, of Quitman, is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marietta, TX with Bro. Nolen Richey officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday evening at Lowe Funeral Home.

Betty was born in Naples, TX on December 3, 1939 to Elton and Ella (Dodson) Roberts. She grew up in the Naples area and was a graduate of Paul H. Pewitt High School. She married Gaynor McCord September 12, 1958 in Creston, IA. Betty was a licensed vocational nurse working a number of years at the Village Manor Nursing Home in Quitman. She was a member of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church and lived in Quitman since 1968.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Gaynor McCord of Quitman; Son, Todd McCord and wife Jeane of Snook; 5 grandchildren, Lauryn McCord, Sarahlynn McCord, Erin McCord, Reilly McCord and Kasey McCord.
