Betty Fay Fredrickson, a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on July 10, 2024 at the age of 86. She was born on August 9, 1937, in Sulphur Springs to Joseph Elmer Howell and Nellie Bly Howell. Betty grew up in Quinlan, Texas, and graduated from Ford High School with a thirst for knowledge.
Betty excelled in her career from a bookkeeper to an accountant, then to Certified Public Accountant (CPA), dedicating over 15 years to her profession in California. Beyond her professional life, Betty's hobbies and interests were varied; she had a passion for antiquing, riding horses, exploring genealogy, cherishing family vacations, and most notably - keeping Terry out of trouble!
Betty's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her family. She cherished her role as a loving mother to her three children and devoted wife to Gerald Keith Fredrickson. She married Gerald on August 13, 1959 in Dallas. They were married nearly 65 wonderful years.
A woman of faith, Betty was known for her strong Christian beliefs that guided her through life's challenges with grace and compassion.
She greets in Heaven her parents, Joseph Elmer Howell and Nellie Bly (Horseman) Howell; and 9 siblings.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Gerald Keith Fredrickson of Yantis; three children, Debbie Morrison and husband Jim of Quitman, Don Newland and wife Robin of Hesperia, California, and Terry Fredrickson and wife Angie of Yantis; dozens of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
A Graveside Service for Betty Fay Fredrickson will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Quitman City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Betty to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Betty will be remembered fondly for her unwavering love for her family and the light she brought into the lives of all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace knowing that she touched the hearts of many with her kindness and generosity.
