Betty Lou
Alexander
Jun 10, 1933 — Jul 8, 2026
Betty Lou Alexander, 93, of Alba, passed away on July 8, 2026, in Quitman.
Betty was born on June 10, 1933, in Alba to Odis Thomas Taylor and Vyra Beulah (Gilbreath) Taylor. She spent the majority of her life in Alba, where she was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family.
On February 8, 1980, she married Don Gaylon Alexander in Oklahoma. They shared many happy years together until his passing in 2011.
Betty was a Christian whose quiet faith guided her throughout her life. She had a lifelong love of reading and could often be found with a book in her hands, reading what seemed to be close to 100 books each year. She also enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for those she loved. Her greatest joy was her family, and she was affectionately known as "Memaw" or "Nana" by her grandchildren.
She greets in heaven her parents, Odis Thomas and Vyra Beulah Taylor; brother, Gerald Taylor; husband, Don Gaylon Alexander; two grandsons, Brian Kurtis Riggle and Billy Matthew Riggle; and great granddaughter, Micayla Kolb.
Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters: Donna Robertson of Golden, TX; Kathy Robertson of Quitman, TX; Sandy Riggle and husband Kurtis of Golden, TX; and Rhonda Cathey and husband David of Quitman. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Robertson, Micah “Mikey” Kolb and wife Shannon, Lori Puckett and husband Bo, Jerri Riley, Jennifer Gray, Charles “Chucky” Riggle and wife Courtnee, Tori Epperson and husband Clay, Emily Cathey, and Noah Cathey; and several great grandchildren.
