Funeral services for Mr. Bennie Ray Pennington, 78 of Quitman are scheduled for 2:30 P.M. Sunday at Hope Family Fellowship in Winnsboro with Marcus Brown, friend, and Ben Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow in Black Oak Cemetery in Hopkins County.

Bennie was born March 7, 1940 near Clarksville, TX to Ben and Nelcean (Trent) Pennington and died November 29, 2018 at his home in Quitman. He worked for John Deere 32 years in the financial department, served in the US Army National Guard, a member of Hope Family Fellowship in Winnsboro and a rancher.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years Barbara Darlene Pennington, Quitman; son Nathan Wayne Pennington and his wife Andra, Winnsboro; grandson David Michael Pennington and his wife Crystal, Alba; granddaughters Amber Gray and husband Phillip, Winnsboro and Samantha Bourland and husband Kelly, Winnsboro; 6 great grandchildren; David Cole Pennington, Bailey Pennington, Addison Hope Gray, Tenlee Grace Gray, Luke Paul Keith Gray and Dakota Bourland and brother James D. Pennington and wife Carolyn of New Boston.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, son David Ray Pennington and sister Linda Woodruff.

Pallbearers will be James Pennington, Glynn Loftin, David Cole Pennington, Phillip Gray, Todd Woodruff and Scott Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Gray and David Michael Pennington.
