Beatrice Ann Boyd

Beatrice Ann Boyd, age 102, died Friday June 28, 2013 in Mineola. She was born March 7, 1911 in Yantis to the late Governor Joseph and Ellis Howle.

She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Wood County. Twelve years were spent in Wyoming and eighteen years in Mineola. Beatrice was a faithful member of the Yantis Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She dearly loved her church family in Mineola.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oscar Boyd, sons, Billy Wayne Boyd and Autry Boyd, grandson, Gary Boyd, nine brothers and three sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Thurman Boyd and wife Jo Nell of Mineola, one sister Ellena Moss of Euless one daughter-in-law, Marty Boyd of Temple, five grandsons,six great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday,July 1,2013 at Lowe Funeral Home, Quitman with visitation one hour prior to the service. Dr. Mark Neeley will officiate. Burial will follow at the Yantis cemetery. If desired memorials may be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Mineola 204 N. Johnson Street 75773.
