Beatrice Ann Bowser was born on April 12, 1930 in Cheswick Pennsylvania to parents Gabriel and Helen Bodick. "Bea" was the youngest of nine children. Her father was a native of Hungary where he trained horses for Hungarian diplomats. Forced to leave his country during the Bolshevik Revolution, Gabriel Bodick and his wife emigrated to America and eventually settled in Pennsylvania. Bea grew up in a multilingual family as her mother was fluent in six languages. Friends and family were accustomed to hearing words and phrases in Hungarian over the years in addition to enjoying various Hungarian dishes such as stuffed cabbage, a traditional family favorite.

Bea was working in a soda shop when she met the love of her life, Charles Bowser. She married "Chuck" on June 21, 1947. They were faithfully committed to one another for 58 years until his death in 2009. Bea was a devout wife and mother who faithfully maintained the family home. She was a committed Christian who served in her local church at 1st Assembly of God in Freeport, Pa for many years. Bea was well known for her culinary skills and was the chief organizer for any event in the church which required food. Weddings, funerals, showers, events and conferences were well supplied with her dishes and those of others who she conscripted to help. She was also active in teaching Sunday school at the church and eventually started a Bible study in her neighborhood at the request of friends.

Bea is remembered by her friends and family as someone who could be depended on for prayer. She enjoyed many prayer meetings with friends at various churches and later in her home. She leaves a legacy of faithful prayer and intercession for others.

She is survived by her children: Richard Bowser and wife Susie of Freeport, Pennsylvania, Stephen Bowser and wife Robin of Quitman, Tx. and Paula Peterson and husband Jay of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren: Leeann, Kassie, Amy, Stephanie, Adam and Andrew; great grandchildren: Carlos, Ella, Bella, Giada, Cohen, Maxim, Charlotte and Wyatt in addition to other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, 8 siblings and her husband, Charles Bowser.

The Bowser family will receive friends at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations from 1:30PM - 3:00PM on July 9th, 2023 with a funeral service following at 3:00PM. Services will be officiated by Pastor David Hartley. Interment will follow at Quitman City Cemetery.
