Autry Joe Boyd, 67, of Brashear, Texas, passed away at his home on August 17, 2025.
Born on December 27, 1957, in Sulphur Springs, Autry was a lifelong resident of Brashear. He worked as a welder for much of his life, dedicating his career to both oil and manufacturing companies while working toward his welding certificate. His strong work ethic and determination were a hallmark of who he was.
Autry was a man of faith and attended Cross Country Cowboy Church in Sulphur Springs. He had a deep love for dogs and was an active member of several dog clubs, most notably the National Association of Louisiana Catahoulas and the American Bay Dog Registry. He especially admired working-style dogs and enjoyed being part of that community. An outdoorsman at heart, he found joy in hog hunting, building smokers, and running the smoker at family gatherings and barbecues.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Ann Roach; brother, Gary Brian Boyd; and his grandparents.
Autry is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Kelley Boyd; father, Glenn Roach; brothers, Buddy Boyd and wife Donna, and Daryl Boyd and wife Gina; a stepbrother and his family; a stepsister and her family; niece, Brittany Hammond and husband Heath; nephews, Derick Boyd and wife Jamie, and Brian Boyd; along with several great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Autry’s memory.
