Annie Marie Turner

Annie Turner, age 85, passed away on February 24, 2022.

Annie was born in Pampa, TX to Elbert Porterfield and Willie L. (Brewer) Porterfield. Annie moved to the East Texas area from Oklahoma in the early 70's and later met and married Johnny Turner in 1973. 

Annie was a long-time member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro.  She was a seamstress and homemaker for many years, and also owned Chaparral Trucking with her husband.  She enjoyed playing board games and listening to music, loved to cook, and always enjoyed a quiet drive through the country roads of Wood County. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Elijah and Willie L. Porterfield; daughter, Karla J. Gharst; brother, L.C. Porterfield; first husband, David Franklin Engle; and second husband, Johnny Turner.

She leaves behind two sons, James Engle and wife Cindy of Ft. Worth, and John Gorman and wife Erin of Tennessee;

11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Casey, Devin, Rachel, Rebecca, Anne, Kayla, Kellie, Kiley, Layton, and Logan; great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Henry James, and Jamison; and one great-great grandson, Gunner.
