Anita Gail Casburn

Funeral service for Anita Casburn, of Quitman, is scheduled for 3:00 PM Monday, October 22, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home with Pastor David Hartley officiating. Graveside will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Anita Gail Casburn was born in Oldham County, Kentucky on July 21, 1930 to the late William Houston and Grace (Taylor) Harrod. On July 5, 1951 in Smithfield, Kentucky, she married the love of her life, Robert T. Casburn. They were married for 40 years at the time of his passing in 1992. They moved to Quitman from Lompoc, California in 1986. Anita worked in the nursery at First Baptist Church in Quitman for 27 years. She loved children and was in charge of the church nursery for 17 of those years. Anita enjoyed reading and loved to spend time with her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Anita passed away Friday afternoon, October 19, 2018 at the age of 88.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Grace Harrod; loving husband, Robert T. Casburn; two brothers, W. C. Harrod and Silas Harrod; one sister, Beatrice Waford; brother in law, William J. Casburn; and sister in laws, Suzanne Brown and LaQueta Casburn.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark Casburn and wife Barbara of Hawkins, and Tracy Casburn and wife Julie of Arlington; daughters, Gerri Eiles and husband Bruce of Quitman, and Deanna Henry of Quitman; 14 grandchildren, Chuck Hill, Amber Yoars and husband Marcus, Nicole Casburn, Alyssa Eiles, Beau Casburn, Aimee Borel and husband Josh, Tyler Casburn and wife Kim, Sarah UjiFusa, Stephanie Casburn, Alayna Moffett and husband Dustin, Dadreian Tennyson, Evan Henry, Chase Tennyson, Annika Henry, and honorary granddaughter, Susan Michelle-Hanson; 10 great grandchildren, Kaytlen Eiles, Allison Borel, Mallory Borel, Brayden Yoars, Brody Hill, Xander Yoars, Mabel Grey UjiFusa; Travis Casburn, Lilly Tennyson, and Olivia Casburn; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, Chuck Hill, Beau Casburn, Tyler Casburn, Dadreian Tennyson, Evan Henry, and Chase Tennyson.

Honorary pallbearers are Dustin Moffett, Joshua Borel, and Marcus Yoars.
