Amos "Skinny" Truett

Funeral services for Amos Eldon Truett (Skinny), 83, of Quitman, are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, February 12, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home in Quitman with Brother Fred Morrow officiating. Amos will be laid to rest next to his wife, Betty Truett, at Concord Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday February 11 at the funeral home.

Amos was born December 20, 1932 in Winnsboro to Thomas and Mary Truett and passed away February 7, 2016 in Bonham. He lived in Quitman his entire life, where he was a farmer. He was also a veteran of the US Army and a member of Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church.

Amos is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Truett; and granddaughter Peri Truett.

He is survived by one son, Lewis Truett of Kaufman; three daughters, Rhonda Lunderman and husband Barry, Jeanette Britton, and Pamela Sikes, all from Quitman; nine grandchildren, Teena, Kyle, Jacob, B.J., Cody, Brittany, Shane, Hannah, and Rachel; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include John Tom Truett, Andre Truett, Jimmy Truett, Kelly Weed, Eddie Derryberry, and Eddie Alaniz. Honorary pallbearer is Bob Jr. Truett.
