Betty Jean (Padgett) Dimsdle was born in Richardson, Texas on November 8, 1933 to the late Clarence W. and Lottie Jane (Holmes) Padgett. On March 10, 1980 she married William “Dale” Dimsdle. They were married 32 years at the time of his passing in 2012. Betty and Dale owned and operated Dale’s BBQ Pit on Gaston Avenue in Dallas. In 1994 they moved to Wood County, where they became members of Hainesville Baptist Church. After two years of living in Wood County and driving to and from Dallas for work, they decided to hang up their hats and close the BBQ business. The couple worked together in the BBQ business for many, many years of their marriage. Betty loved her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, and especially loved to love on babies. She enjoyed serving others, cooking, and ironing. Betty was a member of the church choir for several years and loved to sing gospel music and Christmas songs. Her family says she was the most easy-going and even tempered woman they knew. She was the peacemaker of the family and never got mad. She always had a smile on her face, and never once met a stranger. She greets in Heaven, her husband, William Delmon “Dale” Dimsdle; parents, Clarence W. and Lottie Jane Padgett; five siblings, Nan Williams, Ann Helmers, Jimmie Padgett, C.W. Padgett, and Robert Padgett; and son, Roger Dimsdle. Left to cherish her memory are her five children, Becky Mentesana and husband Charles of Pottsboro, Rhonda Torres of Dallas, Royce Dimsdle and wife Dona of Miller Grove, Randy Dimsdle of Baytown, and Lisa Tate and husband David of Mabank; one sister, Sue Powell and husband Calvin of Marshall; daughter-in-law, Cindy Dimsdle of Mesquite; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Serving as pallbearers are Heath Dimsdle, Matthew Skinner, Jake Lee, Josh Lee, Jared Rhodes, and Deuce Dimsdle.
I loved Ms Bette she was the sweetest and most soft spoken lady. I sang with her in the choir at Hainesville Baptist church. Im sure she will be missed by all her family.
